2016 McLaren 675LT Coupe

2016 McLaren 675LT Coupe

The 2016 McLaren 675LT Coupe easily earns it’s spot on RareCarsOnly! This specific 675LT is finished in a color called ‘Fire Black’ over a ‘Carbon Black’ interior. The 675LT serves as a track-focused evolution of the McLaren 650s, and was first ever introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The ‘675’ model name refers to the power output of 675 PS, and the ‘LT’ derives from the 1997 McLaren F1 ‘Long Tail’, which was the final F1 road car built to comply with FIA homologation regulations for the 1997 F1 GTR. Upon the cars announcement, it was also made clear that only 500 coupes & 500 spiders were to be produced, making the 675LT an extremely rare machine in general. Robert Melville, who is currently serving as McLaren’s design director was the chief designer for the 675LT project. The ‘675’ numbering refers to the cars PS (Pferdestärke) of 675, which is essentially the metric equivalent of a single horsepower. Although the 675LT is around 1.3 inches longer than the 650s, & features a larger rear and front splitter, it weighs around 220lbs less than the 650s, with a total weight of just 2,712lbs. In an online reveal in December of 2015, the 675LT Spider was announced, sharing all of the same mechanics as the coupe model, but offers a slightly lower top speed at 203mph. This car is for sale!
