2019 McLaren Senna PP744 Prototype

2019 McLaren Senna PP744 Prototype

This is the 2019 McLaren Senna PP744 Prototype (100804), now with a unique livery called ‘Senna Sempre’, meaning “Senna Always.” It honors Brazilian Formula One legend Ayrton Senna, depicting portraits of him on and off the track. Senna raced for McLaren from 1988 to 1993, winning three Formula 1 World Championships (1988, 1990, 1991) and becoming world-famous for his mastery in wet conditions and speed. He claimed 35 victories for McLaren including a record six wins at Monaco, with five consecutively won from 1989-1993, earning him the title “King of Monaco.” The Senna livery, hand-painted by McLaren Special Operations, was applied over a previously red paint finish with blue accents. This prototype was featured in ‘The Grand Tour’ (Season 3, Episode 1) and ‘Fast X’ (2023). Known internally as PP744, it was used for McLaren’s original Senna launch campaign at the 2018 Estoril Grand Prix circuit. At the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix, McLaren unveiled a green, yellow, and blue livery for their MCL38 cars to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Senna’s passing. The McLaren Senna (P15 Aina) debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, with only 500 units set for production. Other variants include the Senna GTR, Senna LM, and ultra-rare models like the Senna Can Am and XP. Designed by Robert Melville, the Senna is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8. This prototype stands out with its bespoke interior, and Senna’s autograph on the doors with his quote, “I have no idols, I admire work, dedication and competence.”
