This is the 2023 Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series, 1 of just 55 total that are planned to be developed for the entire world. In the companies own words, this will be the ‘most powerful customer sports car ever developed by Mercedes-AMG’. The ‘Track Series’ will be developed in just 55 total units for the world, and is a way for Mercedes to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Affalterbach-based company. The heart of the Track Series is a AMG 4.0L V8 Biturbo that’s borrowed from the Black Series model, however, has been enhanced to deliver 778 horsepower. This is paired with a sequential Hewland HLS 6-speed racing gearbox, and on top of performance alone, the Track Series is equipped with a hood, fenders, side sills, trunk lid and rear bumper that are made entirely out of carbon fiber materials, ensuring a lightweight result. The car also features a number of other aerodynamic improvements such as integrated louvers, a sleek rear bumper with a double diffuser, a mechanically adjustable racing rear wing, and a massive air outlet on the hood, plus so much more. The example shown here is finished in an exclusive semi-gloss special paint finish in MANUFAKTUR ‘Cirrus Silver Magno’ with accents in red and anthracite, with visually exposed carbon fiber almost everywhere you look. Interestingly, the Track Series features a unique steering wheel made specifically for the model that was developed in collaboration with the sim racing experts at Cube Controls. The Track Series is worthy celebratory model that reminisces on the founding of the company by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher in 1967. A high-quality embossed "1 of 55" plaque allows for each customer to know that the speciality behind the Track Series goes beyond design and performance characteristics, and instead represents a special 55th anniversary, and an important place in Mercedes-Benz history as a whole!
