This is the 2022 Pagani Huayra Codalunga, a surreal special-edition variant of the Pagani Huayra that will be limited to just 5 total units for the world, and is styled with inspiration of old racecars from the 60s in mind. Italian sports car manufacturer, Pagani Automobili S.p.A. released a model known as the Huayra for the first time to public in a press release on January 25th of 2011. The Pagani Huayra Coupè came powered by a 6.0L twin-turbocharged Mercedes-AMG M158 V12 engine that produces 720hp at 5,800rpm and boasted a unique presence of advanced active aerodynamics. Over the years, the Huayra platform has evolved with multiple iterations, including the Huayra Roadster (100 units), the Huayra BC (20 units), BC Roadster (40 units), Imola (5 units), Huayra R (30 units), Huayra Tricolore (3 units), the Roadster HP (2 units) and the Huayra Codalunga (5 units). All production figures exclude prototypes. The Codalunga was officially introduced on March 16th of 2022 and is the result of a special project developed by Pagani Grandi Complicazioni, Pagani’s coachbuilding division. The Codalunga is broken up into ‘Coda’ being Italian for tail, and ‘lunga’ meaning long, and the colors and materials used are designed to recall the long tailed racing cars of the 1960’s, such as the special ceramic coating on the obstructed titanium exhaust system. The Codalunga is both 14 inches longer, and smoother overall than previous Huayra variants, which allows this new model to cut through air with even less drag than ever before. The Codalunga weighs in at a wildly low 2,822lbs, and is said to have costed over $7,000,000 to order. All five planned Codalunga examples have already been spoken for.
