1989 Porsche 911 Turbo Targa

1989 Porsche 911 Turbo Targa

This car shown here is a highly rare example of a 25k-Mile 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo Targa. Sitting on 16” alloy wheels, this 911 Turbo Targa is finished in the desirable and attractive paint shade of ‘Guard’s Red’ (G1) over Cashmere leather upholstery, and is decked out with a number of different unique options such as a Blaupunkt AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, and an aftermarket exhaust system. Once inside this 911 Turbo Targa, and you’re behind the leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, you’ll gain access to the 282 horsepower, turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six engine, which is paired to a numbers-matching G50 five-speed manual transaxle transmission, allowing for the ultimate driving experience from this true Porsche rarity. This particular example is one of just 35 total North American–market units produced for the 1989 model year, and was previously offered for sale via @barryf4343 on @bringatrailer (bringatrailer.com). Porsche introduced it’s first ever turbocharged 911 model in Europe, and by 1976, the 911 Turbo was brought over to the US market. Internally designated as the 930, the ‘Turbo’ evolved overtime until it’s final year in 1989, and this car shown here is easily one of the rarest iterations of the 930 Turbo, with just approximately 105 total five-speed transmission 911 Turbo Targas produced in 1989.
