This incredible machine shown here is a 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera RS (993), 1 of just around 1,014 built of its kind from 1995-1996, including 227 Clubsport variants. This particular example is finished in a beautiful shade of white paint, one of a very small number of 993-generation Porsche cars produced in general. Before we discuss the type-993 Carrera RS, it’s important to note that the 911 model traces it’s roots all the way back to 1959, when a sketch was drawn by the grandson of Austrian-born automotive engineer and founder of the Porsche AG, Ferdinand Porsche, and son of Austrian-German technical automobile designer, Ferry Porsche, Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche. The 911 model was designed and thought out to be a new and improved successor variant to the company’s first production automobile, the 356. The 911 eventually made its first ever public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, and the rest is history.l from this point forth. From there, we’ve now how countless variations of the Porsche 911 model, some rare, some not so rare, unique colors, options, and the list goes on. This 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera RS is internally designated a 993 model by Porsche which indicates that the car was produced between the years 1994-1998. The 993 had many different variants, which all varied in equipment, body styling, engines, and more, however, the Carrera always holds a soft spot in most enthusiasts hearts. As for the Carrera RS model in specific, this model serves as a lightweight version of the Carrera, and was built only for the 1995 and 1996 model years. The RS is powered by a 3.8 L M64/20 air-cooled SOHC H6 engine that makes approximately 296hp. Inside of the RS, to account for weight savings, there are no rear seats and minimum sound proofing was included. One step above the standard RS is the Clubsport (option code M003) model.
