This is the 1 of 3 2005 Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition Coupé, VIN number 102 (built on CGT 0409). For some car collectors, the standard Porsche Carrera GT just wasn’t exclusive or wild enough, so Gemballa (a tuning company based in Germany) developed the Mirage GT in order to curate a more exclusive, more aggressive variant of the Carrera GT. Upon its arrival to the world in 2004, you would’ve probably never imagined that the Carrera GT could become any crazier than it already was. With 603 horsepower coming from one of the best sounding V10 engines of all time and it’s immaculate design, it was already seemingly perfect. Gemballa, however, decided to challenge Porsche’s engineering by creating the Mirage GT, which is faster, louder, and much more aggressive than the standard car. The main differences that Gemballa added to the Mirage GT in comparison to the standard Carrera GT are a new exhaust system, an improved clutch and suspension, a roof scoop, and a massive rear wing. This specific Gemballa Mirage GT is even a bit more special than the standard. This is what’s considered to be a ‘Gold Edition’, and it’s 1 of just 3 total Gold Edition Mirage GTs built for the world of the 25 total produced. This example is 1 of 2 to feature the special ‘rainbow flake’ treatment to it’s black paint, and the gold accents on the wheels, wing, mirrors and air intakes are what distinguishes this car from a standard Mirage GT. This is also the only Mirage GT to have gold exhaust tips and no ‘Gemballa’ logo on the engine covers.
How many made? This Mirage GT is one of just 25 total cars ever made, however this is 1 of 3 Gold Edition cars, and 1 of 2 to have rainbow flake paint
