This is the exceptionally rare 2005 Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT “Matt Blue Edition” bearing VIN number 079 and built upon the Carrera GT chassis 0368. It is the 17th of only 25 Gemballa Mirage GTs ever crafted for the global market. Based on what many regard as the finest road car ever created, the Porsche Carrera GT, this Mirage GT pushes the boundaries of exclusivity and ferocity. While the Carrera GT itself, introduced in 2004, is celebrated for its breathtaking design and its 603-horsepower V10 engine, which delivers one of the most exhilarating exhaust notes in automotive history, for some collectors it lacked the exclusivity and audacity they craved. Enter Gemballa, the renowned German tuning house, which reimagined the Carrera GT as the Mirage GT, a car even faster, louder, and more extreme in every way. Gemballa’s enhancements include a bespoke exhaust system, upgraded engine tuning, an improved clutch and suspension, a striking roof scoop, and a massive rear wing, each contributing to the car’s unmistakable presence and elevated performance. This particular Mirage GT, however, distinguishes itself further as the “Matt Blue Edition.” Originally leaving the Porsche factory finished in “Guards Red” with a dark grey leather interior, it has since been transformed into its current striking Matte Blue exterior, complemented by a black Alcantara and white leather interior, adorned with intricate white stitching. This stunning machine embodies peak engineering possibilities when given little to no boundaries, and the result is a Carrera GT with even more presence and exclusivity.
