This absolutely brilliant 2011 Porsche 911 Speedster is 1 of just 356 total built for the entire world, and 1 of just believed to be 30 total examples that were finished in a special ‘paint to sample’ color, this believed to be the only 2011 911 Speedster finished in ‘Speedgelb’ (Speed Yellow) for the entire world. Most if not all of the other 911 Speedster examples aside from the 30 PTS cars were finished either in ‘Pure Blue’ or ‘Carrara White’ from the factory. The 997-generation Speedster is the 3rd production 911 Speedster model offered by Porsche following the 930 and 964-generations. The 911 Speedster model in particular is special to me because it’s probably the most rare, and collectible car we’ve ever driven for our “Drive & Review” series on our YouTube channel. You can find that full video on YouTube.com/ammediany! Being just 1 of just 356 in the world, with only 100 of those cars being destined for the US, driving a 2011 911 Speedster was exceptionally rare experience, and an opportunity I will never forget! This very special Porsche is powered by a 3.8L flat-six engine that produces just around 408 horsepower, allowing the Speedster to be capable of a 0-60mph time of just about 4.2 seconds. The 911 Speedster pays tribute to the first ever Porsche to wear the Speedster badge, the 1954 Porsche 356 Speedster. The numerology behind the 356 unit production run is an homage to the 54’ 356 Speedster, giving this car even more historical value. The Speedster comes equipped from the factory with virtually every option already included such as the Sport Chrono Package, carbon-ceramic breaks, and much more. This car, which is number 319 of 356, is truly one of the rarest modern Porsches on the road today, and despite not having an option for a manual transmission on this model, it’s still a highly-desirable Porsche to most automotive enthusiasts around the world.
