2012/2013 Porsche Carrera GTZ

2012/2013 Porsche Carrera GTZ

Porsche only built 1,270 Carrera GTs from 2003 to 2007. Of those 1,270 cars, only 6 total cars were sent out for a unique bespoke modification completed by @zagato1919, and only one was designated for the US, this one. Of the 6 cars planned, this is believed to be the 2nd one built, owned and curated by well-known collector @lamborghiniks. This is the 2012/2013 Porsche Carrera GTZ by @zagato1919. Believed to originally be chassis 0257, Finished in a ‘DB4 GT Zagato VEV paint match’ similar or the same to Aston Martin Racing Green over a one-of-a-kind tan leather interior provided by @paganiautomobili. The car mechanically, is identical to the ‘standard’ CGT, powered by the familiar 5.7L V10, however, it’s confirmed this ‘GTZ’ does feature a custom exhaust completed by @kreissieg_official. Other obvious changes from the standard CGT include the exhaust pipes, front bumper shields, engine hood, and rear diffuser. The gear shifter of the car itself is made from the exact same stone from the quarry that built the iconic Duomo Cathedral in Milano, truly a work of Art. The Carrera GT was designed by Dutch automobile designer, Harm Lagaay, and was originally codenamed ‘Project Code 980’ before entering production in 2003.

How many made? This car is believed to be the 2nd car produced by @zagato1919 of a 6 car total run. The GTZ is part of a centennial celebration by Zagato, and they selected 5 lucky owners to complete a series of 6 total cars. Ultimately when all the variants are completed, this car will be a 1 of 6.

Engine: This car features the same 5.7L V10 engine that produces a little over 600 horsepower. This car, however, could be even more powerful thanks to its custom exhaust system as we mentioned before.•Debut: The first GTZ was built for rally driver Ernst Berg. I’m lacking the proper information on an official public debut, but some early photos in March of 2013 show some of the first images of the car outside of the Palexpo Convention Center in Geneva.

Top speed: around 205mph.

0-60mph: about 3.5 seconds.
