This is the 2022 Porsche 911 'Sally Special' (222257) @porschesallyspecial, a one-off, modern-day, real-life interpretation of ‘Sally Carrera’, a popular character in the @pixar American computer-animated sports comedy film, ‘Cars’. The film, which was directed by American film director, John Lasseter, was the very last independently produced Pixar film before the company was purchased by @disney in January of 2006. The film features anthropomorphic talking cars, and a ‘hotshot’ rookie racer known as Lightning McQueen, who is given the opportunity to race the biggest event of his life, but faces a number of obstacles along the way, learning valuable life lessons throughout the story. This unbelievably special 911 is the result of a one-of-a-kind collaboration between Pixar Animation Studios, Style Porsche, Porsche’s Sonderwunsch team, and Porsche Cars North America. The car was finished in a color known as ‘Sally Blue Metallic’ (Sallybluemetallic) over a Chalk leather interior with Pepita seat inserts, which is a near-perfect match to the color seen on the 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera, from Pixar’s Cars franchise, known as ‘Sally Carrera’. The special build was developed using a 2022 911 Carrera GTS as the base, and is equipped with a 473 hp twin-turbo flat-six engine, which is paired to a seven-speed manual transmission system. The car is packed with a number of desirable options straight from the Porsche factory, which include, but are not limited to the Premium Package, a BOSE Surround Sound System, 18-way adjustable Sport Seats Plus, and the 23.7 gallon extended range fuel tank. This special car was auctioned off by @rmsothebys on August 20th of 2022 as part of Monterey Car Week in California at a hammer price of $3,600,000, with 100% of proceeds, excluding taxes and fees, going towards two worthy charities, including Girls Inc., and USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.
