2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

This car shown here is a 2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, and it’s s/n 1S9SB18105S000055, out of approximately 71 total S7 examples developed across all variations of the model. This particular S7 has seen a number of interesting adventures throughout its lifetime, and the car used in the 2007 American racing action-thriller film, “Redline”. The movie centered around a street racing organization which was funded by a group of multimillionaires who made bets worth millions of dollars on the races, which included cars like this Saleen S7, an Enzo Ferrari, an SLR McLaren, and many other interesting supercars. This S7 is said to be 1 of just approximately 30 total examples of the Twin Turbo S7 that were ever produced for the world, however, it’s finished in a one-off color due to the planned ‘Beryllium Orange’ paint being mixed in properly. The S7 model debuted for the first time ever in August of 2000, and was originally powered by a naturally aspirated 7.0L Ford Windsor V8. In 2005 the S7 became fitted with Garret twin-turbochargers producing 5.5 psi of boost and gained 200hp to make for a 750hp total which of course came with lots of improvements in performance. The S7 was of course designed and built by American automobile manufacturer Saleen Automotive Inc., and American businessman and former racing driver, Steve Saleen is credited for developing the car alongside Hidden Creek Industries (resources & funding), and Ray Mallock Ltd. (chassis, suspension, aerodynamics). Designer Phil Frank designed the entire exterior and interior in Rhino 3D CAD, going directly to production from the design and engineering data, without the use of a full size model, an automotive first of its kind.
