2007 Saleen S7 LM

2007 Saleen S7 LM

This is the one of three 2007 Saleen S7 LM VIN number 1S9SB18107S000107. Between the years 2017 and 2019, American manufacturer Saleen re-commissioned approximately 3 of their 71 total S7s built to have ‘Le Mans’ specifications. The S7 model debuted for the first time ever in August of 2000 at the Monterey Historic races that year, and was originally powered by a naturally aspirated 7.0L Ford Windsor V8. In 2005 the S7 became fitted with Garret twin-turbochargers producing 5.5 psi of boost and gained 200hp to make for a 750hp total which of course came with lots of improvements in performance. The S7 was of course designed and built by American automobile manufacturer Saleen Automotive Inc., and American businessman and former racing driver, Steve Saleen is credited for developing the car alongside Hidden Creek Industries (resources & funding), Ray Mallock Ltd. (chassis, suspension, aerodynamics), Phil Frank for the exterior design. The interior was created using Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and the entire body of the S7 is made of carbon fiber. This fantastic S7 LM is finished in a black and silver paint scheme with clear-coated carbon fiber. This specific example was originally a 2007 model and was recommissioned to become an ‘LM’ and was subsequently finished in 2018. This car of course features a number of aerodynamic enhancements such as air vents, an adjustable bi-plane rear wing & much more. On the inside, you have Sparco-designed seats made with black leather & alcantara with yellow stitching that include ‘LeMans Edition’ embroidery. A plaque on the interior indicates this car is chassis ‘LM-007’. Saleen developed the LM as a way to celebrate the companies motorsports success. Other features include a 4130 lightweight steel space frame with honeycomb composite panels, an unequal length double wishbone suspension, power windows, butterfly doors and even air conditioning!
