2020 Touring Superleggera Aero 3

2020 Touring Superleggera Aero 3

Captured in the wild by the great @pablorivasbao himself, this is the 1 of 15 2020 Touring Superleggera Aero 3, a two-seater, limited-edition high-performance beast of a car which is built based upon the front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive grand tourer known as the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera was originally founded in the mid 1920’s after two Milanese lawyers by the name of Felice Bianchi Anderloni and Gaetano Ponzoni secured a controlling interest in Vittorio Ascari’s Carrozzeria Falco. From their, the new owners subsequently changed the name to Carrozzeria Touring, and until the year 1966, the company was known for restyling, and creating some of the worlds most unique and beautiful automobiles of all time. It wouldn’t be until 2006 that the former companies brands and trademarks were purchased by a new firm. This newly created firm was subsequently renamed to Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera S.r.l., and the goal was, and still is to provide design, engineering, non-automotive industrial design, restoration, and more services to their clients. Since the companies restructuring, they have built the Maserati Bellagio Fastback (2008), the Maserati A8GCS Berlinetta (2009), the Bentley Continental Flying Star (2010), the Gumpert Tornante (2011), the Disco Volante concept (2012), the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante (2013), Mini Superleggera Vision (2014), the Touring Berlinetta Lusso (2015), the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante Spyder (2016), the Artega Scalo Superelletra (2017), the Touring Sciàdipersia (2018), the Touring Sciàdipersia Cabriolet (2019), this car, the Touring Superleggera Aero 3 (2020), and finally, their most recent project, the 021 Touring Superleggera Arese RH95 (2021). The Aero 3 model features a complete, and obvious redesigned coach-built body with a large noticeable fin at the rear, and many enthusiasts have pointed out it’s similarity in styling to the 1938 8C 2900B Le Mans Speciale.
